50 Years of Surfing

There have never before been so many women?s world champions together in one room and it was truly amazing to see them all come together last night at the Roxy Pro opening ceremonies. The party gathered an astonishing group of women from Linda Benson to Sofia Mulanovich to celebrate both 50 years of women?s competitive surfing and the 11th annual Roxy Pro Hawaii. How often do you get to boogie down on the dance floor with so many of surfing?s finest, such as Sharron Weber who was dancing up a storm?! The party could not have been a bigger success, or more fun! As world renowned surfer Jericho Poppler commented, ?It was so special that Roxy is conscientious of perpetuating women?s surfing, and it was a huge compliment to the ladies that have come before all these wild and beautiful young surfers today. I thank you very much?all of us really do. I love being here and hats off to Roxy.?
SURF REPORT

We are expecting a small north west swell from Mid-way Island, due to arrive at some point on Monday, November 14th dying off over the next 24 hours. This swell should bring us surf up to 5 ft through late Tuesday. On Thursday, November 17, weather casters are forecasting the largest swell of the early winter season. This swell is arriving from Japan in a west moving to a northwest direction. The storm is considered cyclonic because of the increase in size over the open ocean. They are predicting swell from 12-15 ft with 80-85 mile winds to hit the North shore Thursday and stick around until Saturday.
