50 YEARS OF SURFING HIGHLIGHTS 
 
Women world champs fromt he last 50 years. These women formed women's surfing into the sport it is today.

The openning part was beautiful. Over 300 people showed up to celebrate 50 years of women's surfing and boogie on the dance floor.
 
 
It was as if not a day had gone by with the surfing pack, just a few stories to catch up on.
 
 
Former world champions Margo Oberg and Laura Blears were honored.
 
 
Legends who shaped women's surfing came for the special occasion.
 
 
"This is like a high school reunion, it is amazing," said Jericho Poppler.
 
 
Candy Woodward was a special invitee for the celebration.
 
 
Debbie Beacham flew all the way from California to attend the event which celebrated her victory as a world champ and part of history.
 
 
The party was held at Waima Falls. It was decorated beautifully. It truly looked like a special occasion.
 
 
A 50 years of women's surfing history lined the halls as you entered the party.
 
 
Local surf photograher Pricket and his daughter and her friend were there for the celebration.
 
 
Jim Russi and his bride enjoyed conversation with all the guests. Jim is one of the most committed photograher's to women's surfing and has been a major contribution to the fame of our female surfer athletes.
 
 
Jodie Young with her husband and new baby. Surfing icon Jodie Young still is a major contributor to the surfing market today.
 
 
World champs, but most importantly friends. Lisa Andersen and Sofia Mulanovich.
 
 
WCT riders Mel Redman and Heather Clark will compete in the Roxy Pro Hawaii.
 
 
World Champion Linda Bensen and Prue Jefferies enjoy the Roxy party.
 
 
Roxy men Steve Tully and Glen Moncata (especially his wife Meredith) have been a significant part of making Roxy into what it is today.
 
 
Surfing legend Pauline Mencer still competes on the WCT today.
